Pag Ibig at The UP Fair

      Last night, two young people who are very special to me got engaged on the stage of “A Date With Destiny” concert during Yeng Constantino’s song “Pag-Ibig”. It was really sweet and well executed but before that, kwento muna ako.

      The girl is a UP graduate who invited me to host an event for them way back then. I invited her to church and she decided to stick around and today, she is one of our most active members/servants of the Lord!

     The guy, is my disciple in my small group. I’m very proud of him because he’s one of the first youth to come to me and ask for my blessing to court a girl. I remembered being so touched, I sent an email to the girl:

Dear A.M.,

This letter is just verification to let you know that a Mr. Brian Dela Rosa has approached me to tell me of his intention for you. That’s actually very sweet of him not just for you, but for me as a youth pastor because he is actually the first to approach and ask for my blessing which is a very noble thing. Yun lang po. So bahala ka na ha.Haha. God bless

    Well whatta you know, after a month the two became “in a relationship”. It’s been more than 2 years and I have witnessed their cuteness together. When Tom talked to me weeks ago about his plan, I wanted to help make sure it was gonna be a good set up. At first, he told me that he was gonna propose on the side while Yeng sang her song “Pag-Ibig”. But then I said why don’t we get her into this since she’s also a good friend of mine. Being the shy-type he is, Tom refused saying “wag ka magulo”.hehe. Then, when I guested Yeng on my program Against The Flow last Monday, I forgot I was gonna tell her about it until Tom who was listening texted “Wag Ka Magulo” which reminded me. After telling Yeng, we decided to give him a call and she would try to convince him saying “Once in a lifetime opportunity toh..sige na”. It turns out it would be the first time anyone has ever proposed during her new song “Pag Ibig” if Tom decided to go for it. According to Yeng, her inspiration was the Divorce Bill so this song can be meant for married couples. When I finally got to convince the man, I texted Yeng “game na daw” and she said “Oks… :) ayus!”

    So on February 15, it was on! Yeng’s set was to be around 1am so 16th na pala. The plan was she would call up A.M. during her song to sing and then, Tom would come up and do his thing(just watch the vid). It worked & the crowd cheered in kilig! By the end of the song “Pag Ibig” two people were happily engaged for a lifetime together. It was a proud moment for a youth pastor/mentor to witness something like this. Salamat sa konchaba kong si Yeng at sa lahat ng supporters ng “TAM-TAM” loveteam! :p

Thank God. Pag Ibig Rules!
